Frosty Fields and Winter Sunrise

Frosty Fields and Winter Sunrise (12″ x 12″ acrylic on canvas board)

A fun experiment using cool and warm colours.  I can’t say I’ve used a combination of peach and mint green in the same painting before but I rather like it!

Warm Light on the Winter Fen

sem abstract acrylic landscape painting of fens

Warm Light on the Winter Fen (12″ x 12″ acrylic on canvas board)

I’ve been compensating for the recent dull weather by playing around with colour and texture.  This is my interpretation of the low warm light I found on a visit to the Fens in late December.

Pre-Selection for RI Exhibition

The Old Shed (30cm x 30cm mixed media on paper)

I am thrilled that this painting has been pre-selected for the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (‘the RI’) exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London this April.  I won’t know until next month whether it makes the final selection but to have even got this far feels amazing!  Very many thanks to the selection panel and to those of you kind enough to support my work and offer encouragement.  I’ll keep you posted – fingers crossed!
