Bluebell Carpet

bluebells, wood and water

Bluebell Carpet (16″ x 20″ acrylic and oil on canvas board)

The bluebells at nearby Rutland Water put on a good display this year and prompted me to produce another largish (for me) painting. Creating the ‘dribbles’ was especially fun 🙂

This painting, along with others, will feature in my Open Studios event on Saturday/Sunday 23 & 24 June and Saturday/Sunday 30 June & 1 July.  This is part of Rutland Open Studios  – follow a trail around beautiful Rutland and Stamford and see lots of lovely artwork.  What’s not to like?  You can see and download the Rutland Open Studios brochure detailing participating artists and studio opening times here http://www.rutlandopenstudios.co.uk/

Please do pop in and see me at my open studio if you in the Stamford area.  I’ll have cards and prints for sale as well as original paintings and I ‘d love to chat about my inspiration, how I create my paintings and the materials I use.  I’ll be open between 10am and 4pm on 23, 24, 30 June and 1 July at 71 Exeter Gardens, Stamford PE9 2SA.  Open by appointment at other times – just give me a call to check I’ll be in on 07887 403054

An exhibition of paintings by some Rutland Open Studios artists (including me) is currently taking place at Rutland County Museum, Oakham.  It’s a great show and entry is free.  Check out the Museum’s website for opening times – generally open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.  The exhibition runs until 16 June.
