Inspired by my trip to Spain over the summer I have completed a small series of (well, three!) paintings of beach scenes. You might have seen them already if you follow me on social media but here they are all together. They are also now on my website http://sarahjenningsartist.com/gallery_698663.html
I’ve got plenty more ideas for future paintings so watch this space! It’s been interesting how the Mediterranean light has caused me to change my colour mixes. For instance I’ve used Cerulean Blue a lot more than I would in the UK.
I am handing in paintings today for selection for the Welland Valley Art Society Autumn Exhibition which starts on Monday 1st October and runs until 13th October at Stamford Arts Centre. I’ll be reporting back on that next time but if you are local and free that day please do come along to the Preview event this Sunday, 30th September from 11.30am – 1.30pm. It would be lovely to see you! I’ll also be on stewarding duty at the gallery on Friday 5th October from 10am to 12.30pm so please do say ‘hello’.
I am back to work after a lovely summer and feeling the usual Autumn urge to ‘get organised’. Rather than buy myself a new pencil case (although I was tempted!) I have spent time giving my website some attention. Not only do my giclee prints and greetings cards now appear – there’s now a fancy shopping cart and a link to Paypal so they can be bought at the click of a mouse. Mini paintings also available to purchase this way. Please get in touch about larger paintings to chat about prices, frames and delivery.
Talking of frames, I am now busy preparing for the Welland Valley Art Society Autumn Exhibition which takes place at Stamford Arts Centre between 1 – 13 October. You are most welcome to the preview on Sunday 30 September 11.30am – 1.30pm if you can make it.
I’ll also be showing paintings in the Stamford Arts Centre anteroom throughout November. Best get back to the easel!………
