Still feeling blue

…..bluebells this time!

The bluebells seemed to be fantastic this year and a few weeks ago I took sketchbook and camera out with me to record them before they disappeared.  I actually created these two oil paintings shortly afterwards but it has taken me a little time to post them here.  Hope you like them! As the weather has been so unpredictable I have been doing some studio painting, catching up on the reference material I gathered earlier in the year.  We had a fabulous showing of bluebells in Barnsdale Woods this Spring.  Lots of people were taking photos.  This is my version using mixed media and lots of splattering!


MNDA Art Pop Up


I am really looking forward to taking part in a pop-up art exhibition in Stamford on 10 October.  Local artists are contributing work for exhibition and sale with a view to raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association – a fantastic charity.  Please come!  Here are the three paintings I am contributing.  They were inspired by my walking in mid-May from Stamford along the River Welland towards Easton on the Hill,
